Welcome to Woman in the Mist, a tribute and fanlisting for Dian Fossey. Dian was a noted ethologist, primatologist, and conservationist who dedicated her life to studying and protecting gorillas. She observed and lived with the gorillas in Rwanda for eighteen years. Dian was the gorilla expert in the so-called "Trimates" (the other two being Jane Goodall- chimpanzees & Birute Galdikas- orangutans), who together pioneered the scientific study of apes. Dian constantly put herself in danger by confronting poachers, until her murder in 1985. If you are a fan of this extraordinary woman, then please join!
