History: Elijah started acting at a very young age. In 1987, at age 6, he was in the chorus for "The Sound of Music", his elementary school's annual festival. He also played the Wizard of Oz in the same festival a year later and was a choir boy in the Marion Creative Council's production of "See How They Run". In 1988, Elijah's mother enrolled him in modeling school at Avant Studios in Cedar Rapids and six months later they traveled to Los Angeles for the International Modeling and Talent Association annual convention. It was during this convention when Elijah's talent was first noticed by talent managers. Within a month, the Wood family moved to L.A. and Elijah's acting career began. His first job was the part of a young executive in Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl" music video. Then he played small roles in the movies Internal Affairs and Back to the Future Part II. But Elijah's big break came when he was in Avalon in 1990 and was noticed by critics.

Elijah Wood is such an incredible actor because he doesn't stay with one type of subject. He's always expanding his roles to continue his success. He can adapt to each different role and play that to the best of his ability, which is why he has risen from a child actor to a professional one. All of Elijah's characters have been uniquely different but he makes them all real and memorable.
